Disgusting behavior

Today is a rant. I apologize in advance if this annoys you in anyway. I'm just not proud to call myself or my year group; year 10. Please let me know what you think of my year group.

Ever been on a school excursion before? Well today I went on two and missed the whole day of school! But the day didn't end so well...
The second excursion was fun - as most excursions are - but it didn't have a fun ending. I went to a careers expo today with the entire year 10 class. Our teachers said 'don't leave the building or the expo area', guess what half the year did? They walked 1km down the road - leaving the area of the expo - to go down to McDonalds. What was the rule they had to follow again? Hmm...I forgot? Horrible, horrible excuse. What made it even better was no one else found out until we got back to school and everyone got yelled at by the principle. Who, I might happen to add, almost took formal away, took our year 10 privileges away and almost put everyone on detention! He was appalled by our behavior, so were our teachers and everyone who did the right thing. The students talked back?! Hello??? That's the principle you're talking back to!!! (Which you should never do. Do not EVER talk back to the principle - or any teacher - and make up excuses for your behavior, it is completely unacceptable.)

I apologize again for going on like this, but that's my year group and I am not proud to be apart of it now. Some people really do need to learn the meanings of these three words; respectobedience and discipline.

A quiz

I am so very sorry for there being nothing yesterday, I have the worst Internet in the world.

Teachers love giving students tests. The only reason I can think of as to why is because there is an hour of silence. I love that silence too, but I have to do a test or quiz in that time instead of watching everybody do one. Kinda sucks for the teachers though because they have to write the test before you do it. Today I did a small topic test or quiz. The best thing about this quiz is that we get a second one to do, yay! (Not.) Although doing it again isn't all that fun, it gives you a chance to lift your mark so you get a better grade - that's only if you try.
If you get a second chance at a any test, make sure you try and that you study because most of us, well, everyone wants a better grade.

A touched heart

I've changed today up a bit. I did have stuff to write about but I thought I'd touch your hearts instead. (You may need a box of tissues.)

I hope they don't make you cry too much. Open up your heart; fight for things, don't give up, speak your mind and always help others.

Headaches

I'm pretty sure you've had a headache before. What do you do when you get a headache? Do you go lie in a quiet, dark room or take something for it? Everyone agrees to this though, the suck and they are not fun. Sometimes they hurt and those are the ones that you can't really get rid of in a hurry. I've had this headache for at least half the day and it doesn't seem  to be going away... Some headaches are short and others are long. The longest headache I've ever had, was just over a week. You can sleep them off and that's normally how I get rid of mine but I usually get them in the late morning and cannot get rid if them.
If you know of a way to get ride of a headache I'd love to hear it! I get headaches a lot and nothing I do gets ride of them so throw ideas at me, I am open to hear your suggestions!

Homemade vs. store bought

Anything homemade is always better than store bought things.
My dad loves making food. He recently started making homemade ice-cream and has experimented a lot. He uses fresh ingredients, chocolate bars and flavoring to make his own ice-cream! (It is delicious.) Now making your own of anything means you never get the same amount as the last, so it will either be more than the last time or less than. (My dad always makes a lot so there is always more.) Now that means we eat a lot of ice-cream. Is that good or bad? I say bad, but yummy, very yummy.
What do you think is better, store bought or homemade?

Forgetting

Another post for that great friend of mine.

Almost everyone forgets about something. That overdue homework that you still haven't done or that chore your mother asked you to do or how about forgetting you you are? Everyone loses themselves in thought but when you get really down you tend to lose yourself altogether. You forget what kind of person you were and everything you were capable of. But somewhere deep down inside of you all of that is still there because all you've done is cover it up and tried to forget about it. Dig a little and you'll find it.
Don't hide from yourself and don't hide from others. It hurts, I know, but trying to forget will never work. The only thing you forget is who you are, were and still am.
If you've lost yourself, there is always someone willing to help.

The English language

I don't have anything for you today, but instead of giving you nothing, I'll give you something about the English language. This got sent me by a friend some time ago, hope you guys like it. It may be a bit confusing, so heads up on that. I do apologize for the length of it, it is a bit long - but worth it.

Ours is definitely not an easy language!!
THIS IS GREAT!!!  Read  all the way to the end....  This took a lot of  work to put  together!!!
You think English is  easy???
Read to the end . . a new  twist

1) The  bandage was wound around  the wound.
2)  The farm was used to produce  produce.
3)  The dump was so full that it had to refuse more refuse.
4)  We must polish the Polish furniture.
5) He  could lead if  he would get the lead out.
6)  The soldier decided to desert his  dessert in the desert.
7)  Since there is no time like the present,  he thought it was time to present the present
8)  A bass was  painted on the head of the bass drum.
9)  When shot at, the dove  dove into  the bushes.
10) I did not object to  the object.
11)  The insurance was invalid for  the invalid.
12)  There was a row among  the oarsmen about how to row ...
13)  They were too close to  the door to close it.
14)  The buck does funny  things when the does are  present.
15) A seamstress and a sewer fell  down into a sewer line.
16)  To help with planting, the farmer taught his sow to sow.
17)  The wind was  too strong to wind the  sail.
18)  Upon seeing the tear in  the painting I shed a tear.
19)  I had to subject the subject to  a series of tests.
20)  How can I intimate this  to my most intimate friend?

Let's  face it - English is a crazy language. There is no egg  in eggplant, nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor  pine in pineapple. English muffins weren't invented in  England or French fries in France . Sweetmeats are  candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are  meat. We take English for granted. But if we explore  its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly,  boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a  pig.
And why is it that  writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't  groce and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is  teeth, why isn't the plural of booth, beeth? One  goose, 2 geese.. So one moose, 2 meese? One index, 2  indices? Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make  amends but not one amend? If you have a bunch of odds  and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do  you call it?
If  teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught? If a  vegetarian eats vegetables what does a humanitarian eat?  Sometimes I think all the English speakers should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane.  In  what language do people recite at a play and play at a  recital?  Ship by truck and send cargo by ship?  Have noses that run and feet that smell?
How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while  a wise man and a wise guy are opposites?  You have to  marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which  your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you  fill in a form by filling it out and in which, an  alarm goes off by going on.
English  was invented by people not computers and it reflects  the creativity of the human race, which, of course, is  not a race at all. That is why when the stars are out  they are visible but when the lights are on they are  invisible.

PS.  - Why doesn't 'Buick' rhyme with 'quick' ?

You  lovers of the English language might enjoy this  .
There is  a two-letter word that perhaps has more meanings than  any other two-letter word, and that  is 'UP'

It's easy  to understand UP , meaning  toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we  awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP ? At a  meeting, why does a topic  come UP ? Why do  we speak UP and why are the officers UP for  election and why is it UP to the  secretary to write UP a report  ?
We  call UP our  friends. And we use it to  brighten UP a room,  polish UP the  silver; we warm UP the  leftovers and clean UP the  kitchen. We lock UP the house  and some guys fix UP the old  car. At other times the little word has real special  meaning. People stir UP trouble,  line UP for  tickets, work UP an  appetite, and think UP excuses..  To be dressed is one thing, but to be dressed UP is  special.
And  this UP is  confusing: A drain must be  opened UP because  it is stopped UP . We  open UP a store  in the morning but we close  it UP at  night.
We seem  to be pretty  mixed UP about UP ! To be  knowledgeable about the proper uses  of UP, look the  word UP in the  dictionary. In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UP almost  1/4th of the page and can  add UP to about  thirty definitions. If you  are UP to it,  you might try building UP a list of  the many ways UP is used.  It will take UP a lot of  your time , but if you don't give UP ,you may  wind UP with a  hundred or more. When it threatens to rain, we say it  is clouding UP .. When  the sun comes out we say it is  clearing UP ...
When  it rains, it wets the earth and often messes  things UP.
When it  doesn't rain for awhile, things  dry UP .
One could  go on and on, but I'll wrap  it UP , for now  my time is UP ,  so........it is time to shut UP !
Oh . . .  one more  thing:
What is  the first thing you do in the morning & the last  thing you do at night? Yes, U-P

Dreams

Everyone dreams, don't they? Every time you sleep you have dreams. You may not remember them, but you do dream every night. Dreams are plain weird but at the same time cool. Dreams are nice and not nice - that does not include nightmares. A dream can be bad and not be a nightmare. A nightmare is a scary dream. Do you ever remember waking up in the middle of the night from one? They are not cool.
I don't know about you, but I dream a lot. I don't try to, I just do. I remember each one when I wake up. The scariest part about my dreams is that they feel like real life. I woke up on Sunday and scared myself. I went to the pantry to get food and what I'd taken earlier, was there again... It took me a moment to realize that I dreamed taking it, but I never did. As for nightmares, I get those a lot too. I still wake up in the middle of the from them and it does take awhile to go back to sleep.
Some people say dreams have a meaning. I personally, don't think they do, but you never know...it could. The only thing I don't get about dreams, is how you never remember how they start and why you always wake up before they finish... Scientists might know the answer, but I sure don't. Maybe you do?

Blinded and lost

Friendships only last if you keep the friendship going. If you suddenly stop talking to someone and forget about them, or start to ignore them, you lose them. Once you've lost them, it's hard to buy that friendship back.
I've been pretty blinded the past few months. I've dropped both things I mentioned. Now my best friends...well, they're still friends but I've ignored them for so long that it will take a lot, and I mean a LOT to buy or win it back. They have a reason to be mad and hate me. They don't want to show it, but I can see it and hear it. I never saw what I did or even realize. Until you told me, I had no clue and now it feels too late to do a thing about it. I look back and see what I did. I was nothing but blinded and that made me do something pretty stupid and that stupid thing cost me.
Don't make the mistake I've made. Think you haven't talked to them in awhile, send them a text, give them a call, go out somewhere and catch up. Don't do what I did and not even realize what was going on because you cannot buy friends and you cannot make it up by saying sorry. Friendships are important, please don't make my mistake and get blinded and not see it get lost.

For those I hurt; there nothing to I can say or show to say how truly sorry I am.

Don't want to go

Tomorrow is the first day back at school, start of second semester. The day you get to hear about other people's holidays, see your friends and of course, you start to get all that work again... Yeah, it sucks, I know. But how fast did the last semester fly by? This semester will be even shorter, because I'm in year 10 and we finish two weeks early. This is my last semester at high school and maybe the last time I'll be in the same class or even school as my friends.
If I could stop the clock right now, I would. Don't go back to school and spend another good year or two with all my friends. College is right around the corner and will be here in no time. This one of the only times I have and am going to say this, I don't want to go back to school. But if really have to, this semester I am giving it my all. this will be the best half a year ever! Even if you're not in year 10, graduating or leaving school, give it everything you got. You won't regret it and you'll have many memories.

Your world

Have you ever had your own imaginary land or world? Where you make the rules, make everything and own it? Well today I got a game that lets you create your dream world...at high school. You build the school up, make the people and put them into groups, have parties and even get to set up dates! It's pretty boring because wait awhile for things to upgrade and complete things, but you make it how ever you want. and while you wait for things, you get tons of money.
Most people don't play many games these days, or use their imagination much anymore, but you should! That's where the kid within you hides and it wants to come out every now and then. The kid within me is starting to become me. I don't think that's bad, I think it's great! I thought I was growing up to fast and that I'd never get to be a kid again, but I guess I was wrong.
Try it. Make your own world up. Whether it be in a game or in your mind. Your world, your rules - no one to boss you around.

Catch up

Holidays mean people can sleep in and catch up on missed sleep, do things you don't have the time to do so you're up to date on everything and to chill out. Sometimes doing nothing and chilling is the best way to catch up on sleep. You don't actually have to sleep, all you have to do is rest. Yeah, that means a pretty lazy day. Your parents probably won't like you being lazy for the next few days until school starts, but if you tell them you're resting up for the start of the new semester so you learn better, who knows, it might get you out of doing lots more work.
I personally don't like having lazy days, but you need them every now and then. Just take a day to catch up that missed sleep.

The last day

Today is the last day of my holidays down in Victoria. The joy of packing all your stuff back up and the rush in the morning to be out on time, must be the best part of coming back. The only thing that could make things any worse for packing up and leaving - wherever you are - is rain... Funny enough,  there is huge thunderstorm here.
But you look back on the week or weeks you've had away and wish you never had to leave. No matter how much you said you wanted to leave. (Most people just want to stay so they don't have to go back to school.)

Paddle-steamers and The Murray

I am so deeply sorry a out there being no post yesterday, my Internet a d devices were crashing and not working. So I'll do yesterday's and today's as two separate posts. Also, I want to say a big thank to that awesome friend of mine who did wednesdays post.

Have you ever heard of the Murray River in Australia? Well today I went for a 1 hour boat ride on a steamboat down the Murray today. Echuca, in Victoria has the biggest and oldest inland port for paddle-steamers. From the mid 1800's to the early 1900's Echuca was the pain for transportation of both people, live stock and supplies.
These days it still has paddle-steamers in port and is the main tourist attraction for the town of Echuca. They give boat rides up and down the Murray and tell you all about it. I went on one 10 years ago when I was five. It was still as fun, relaxing - even though when I was five I didn't sit down, I ran about the boat - and even a little romantic. I recommend it to anyone who loves a boat ride, the Australians bush or just wants to try something new.

Rehearsal!

Hello is that friend of hers again. She's unable to do it today, so I am again.
So, these past few weeks, on every Tuesday night, I've been practicing for a roadshow production I'm in It's so much fun! There's singing, dancing and of course, acting. Now I don't have a major roll but it's a roll nonetheless and in a production, all rolls are important. It's a week and a half until our first performance in Merimbula, New South Wales and then again in another two weeks in my home town. I'm not much of a dancing person at all but in this situation, it's I am because other people are dancing with you. Your fellow actors and actresses and when on the stage, you have to trust them to back you up which they will always in a play.
If you have the opportunity to be in a play then go! It's a lot of fun.

Luck

It's a fifty-fifty chance on whether you get good or bad luck. Most of my bad was bad luck. Have the places we went to were closed or not what we expected. The other have was good luck. The places were open and easy to find, plus they were also fun.
With luck you don't get to role dice and see what you get, it just happens to be bad timing. So I'll refrace, half my day was bad timing because we didn't time it well. You generally say 'of it's bad luck, maybe we'll have better luck next time'. You probably will, but it's either good timing or bad timing, not good or bad luck.
I believe in luck, but that doesn't mean you do or that it exists. What do you think, is there such thing as luck?

A late night swim

Have you ever gone for a midnight swim, or just a swim late at night?  I highly recommend it. It's not like swimming in the daylight where you can see everything and there's lots of noise. Swimming at night is peaceful and relaxing. You can't see much - unless you're inside - and all you hear is silence.
Spas are nice. They're heated and have bubbles! I don't recommend going in the spa before you walk outside into the cool night air - you tend to freeze, as I did tonight.
The next time you go on holiday to a resort or even if you have a pool in your backyard, go for a late night swim.

A farm

Crops you buy in the shop and dairy products come from farms. Yeah, pretty obvious statement. As I am in in-land Victoria, so the country. I'm on the Murray River and the farmers around here use the water from the river to water their crops. Today I went to a farm that was 4,700 acres of nothing but vegetables. Watching the works harvest the crops and watching people drive tractors and the amount of fun they have while doing it, it really does make someone's day.
I don't know if you've ever been to a farm before, but it's definitely worthwhile.

That car trip

Travelling in the car to go any where is really boring. You just stare out the car window, listen to music and talk occasionly. Some sleep during the drive. But one of the funnest things to do while driving is playing a game. What do you do on a long trip? Well today I have travelled to Victoria, five and a half hour trip. The scenery on the way down, well it's the good old fashioned Australian bush.
Long trips can be boring but not if you make them fun. Try and make your next car trip enjoyable whether its a short trip or a really long trip, it can still be fun. Just try, put some music in your ears and look out the window.

And the biggest thank you to my friend for writing the last two posts. Sorry I didn't do them, but I leave you in good hands when I cannot and am not here.

Old fashioned

Hey, it's her friend again. She has asked me to type up a post as she's again unable to today.
As you've read, it's school holidays once again. Probably one of the greatest things in a students life. These first few days for me has been pretty old fashioned. Let me explain.
On Monday, I went over to my friends place (The one who would usually type up a post) and she taught and showed me how to use a film camera that she borrowed from our school. It was very cool and really nice actually. We went for a walk to a marvelous hillside to take pictures of the scenery around us which mainly included of well...hills and trees. There were some wildlife too but they were too far to get a good picture of. This wasn't the only old fashioned thing I've done these holidays though. Today, I decided to write a letter to a friend who I haven't seen or spoken to for a while and then hand delivered it. Yes, we both have phones and each others numbers and we're friends on facebook but it actually feels nice to hand deliver letters and who doesn't like getting mail?
If you have time, think of a friend who you haven't talked to for a while and send them a letter and you will feel pretty good of yourself.

Band practice

Hey, it's the good friend you've often read about today because I've been asked to do it for her tonight since she's unable to.
Today was a great day day because I went over to my friends place with other friends to practice. You see, we're all in a band which is super fun! It's not a big band, just 5 school friends in a musical group. We have two guitarists, a bass guitarist, a drummer and a vocalist which is me. Together, we make a band. A band that currently has no name but it wont be like that for too much longer...hopefully. Anyway, as any usual band practice went for us, it started off with talking about what to play and actually practice. Then we started practicing a song that we're hopefully going to perform at a concert the our school has during the winter. We've been practicing this one song for a while and it ended up the only thing we did practice because we want it perfect for the concert.
In the end, it was a successful session, much more practical then previous ones. If you have musical skills and know others close to you who has musical skills, then consider making a group/band and I promise that you'll have a great time.

Music

Music is these days is basically any form of noise. I, myself personally am a huge fan of really old music. An example is 'The Beach Boys' and 'Neil Diamond' both going back to the 60's. I'm a little old school - and I'm proud of it!
I believe music is a reflection of the person you are. When you're driving in the car, around the house or out and you hear the radio playing your favourite song or kind of music or even when you put your own music on, you are truly yourself. It brings out you. When you're home alone, what do you do with your music? (There is only one answer to that.) Turn it up really loud. No headphones or earphones needed because you are the only person in the house, they is only going to be your music playing so why not make it really loud?
Music reflects the person within you, don't be afraid to show the world that person. Dance around like nobody's watching and sing at the top of your voice! By the way, singing is so much more fun when you sound horrible and are not in tune to anything. Be an idiot when you're home alone and you might come out of your shell in public one day.

Secrets

Everybody has secrets. When you tell someone else your secret, it is no longer a secret. Some secret you need to share or want to, but others need to be kept. Secrets can hurt people, some more than others, but a secret is a secret and it needs to be kept to yourself. You can have a shared secret, where someone else was there and knows, but as before; if you tell anyone it is not a secret anymore.
I've got a few secrets that I really want others to know about, but I can't tell them.
They are hard to keep and sometimes they slip. You can't help it if it slips - but try to not let it slip in the first place, okay?
They're hard.
They're painful.
Most of all, they're a memory. (As always, hold onto it.)

Laughter

Laughter is the cure for almost anything, well actually, it is the cure for everything. Many people don't realize that. For example, someone can be really upset and have a good time while laughing. They will stay happy until they realize they were sad about something and they will become sad again.
Anyone or anything can make you laugh. As for me today, I had one of the best laughs in a long time. It was even better than usual because it was with family.
If you want a really good laugh, I recommend watching 'Despicable Me 2'. It is a cartoon but I promise you'll find it hilarious and get a great laugh out of it. I saw it today and regret one bit of it!

Holidays have now, officially started!

It's official, holidays have begun. Yeah, I guess they started yesterday but that was still part of the school week, now it's the weekend. Now they're officially started you can sleep in, party, basically do whatever you wish for two weeks - if it means shop till you drop, you shop till you drop! (I don't recommend it, along with a lot of other things, but what you do is up to you.)
What do you do with the first day? Anything you wish. For me, that involves doing nothing and having a relaxing day. Sit around and do nothing basically. Hang out with the family is always a good way to start them.

Safe and happy holidays everyone. (Don't do anything too stupid.)

The report card

The last day of first semester, the time of year you get your first report. Towards the end of the semester you start to nag your teachers about what grades you're getting. Yep, don't worry, everybody does it - that includes me too. Your teachers hate it, they really do. Why wouldn't they, they have hundreds of students asking for their grades, they don't remember every single one off the top of their head!
Well it's the last day of term and you get that report. Yes, all those grades you'd been nagging your teachers for. Where you trade your report to see others and know what they got. Not all reports have a positive result. Everyone is an individual. Everyone does things their own way so what they get reflects their attitude and how hard they were willing to try.
I'm happy with mine and so are many friends. If you didn't get what you wanted, try harder next semester. There are always ways to improve, you just have to make the effort to do so.

Happy holidays everybody!

Mistakes help you learn

I don't normally do posts like this but today this post is dedicated to a good friend of mine. He means the world to me.

People have feelings or emotions and trying to understand those, is next to impossible. Sometimes they get hurt, damaged and other times they are overwhelmed, overwhelmed with happiness and nothing else. Sometimes people make mistakes and they have a fifty-fifty chance, you don't know which way they will go. You make mistakes and that's how people learn. How do you learn if you don't know what to fix or what might happen?
The feeling of you've done everything wrong, messed it all up and the world collapses in on you and others around you, you tend to blame yourself for every tiny little thing that has happened. Don't. It can never be your fault and your fault alone, others are always going to be involved.
You're  a great guy, and a great friend. Not just to me but to many people. I know you think you've done something wrong, but you haven't. Stay strong and always wear a smile, because when you smile, it brings out the sunshine.

A football

Sport is great! It keeps you active, you get to socialise with others and you have fun - because when you fail, it's as great as succeeding. Sport is dangerous  but getting hurt is also part of the fun. It may sound stupid and a little painful but true.
Today I was playing football - just kicking the ball around, not just an actual game - with a bunch of friends most of recess and all of lunch. We do most days, actually, we do that every day! Today I got a ball to the face - twice. As much as it hurt, the game took my mind off it.
The next time at recess or lunch, take a ball to school with you or borrow one from school. It is a lot of fun and I promise you, you won't regret it.

Creativity of the mind

There is no limit for your imagination. You could do something imaginative and still be sensible and then you can be imaginative and completely stupid. The best example I can think of for there being no limit on the imagination, is art. Art these days can be almost anything. (Not being mean to the Aussie government or whoever comes up with the artworks around Canberra here in the ACT, but those 'artworks' are NOT and I will never call them art. Seriously, they look horrible - sorry if you like them.) But there is no limit to imagination so they might be art...?
I've had a pretty fun night so far. I have some of these mini m&ms that I've been eating extremely slowly all weekend long. I've about 1/4 left and have had some time up my sleeve. I found a piece paper, sorted the m&ms and been making pictures. Yep, edible pictures. Who ever said you could only draw on paper?
What you call art is entirely up to you. But just keep this in the back of your mind, there is no limit to the imagination. You can make almost anything out of anything! No limit, limitless resources! Have fun with your imagination; it can take you anywhere and you can create anything.

Hold on

You don't have everything forever. As much as you wish you could or think you can, in truth you can't. You only have the time you had because after that they are just memories. You don't want those memories to ever leave you, you want them to stay. I hold on to all my memories; think about them in my spare time, when I go to sleep or whenever I need so I don't forget them. It may sound like a boring thing to do but when someone else remembers that memory and you don't, it does put a hole inside of you. They remember the time or times you had and you don't.
My advice for you: if you make a memory - they are all worth remembering - think about it whenever you can. They can make you happy or they can make you sad but that memory may be all you have one day, so don't let it go.
