Decisions

Who doesn't have them? You make them all the time, but it's only the ones you think about or the ones you make at the last minute that you notice. Today I went to the movies with my family. We'd picked the movie and the time before hand but didn't buy the tickets. We got there and...it's full. So we had to make a decision; do we not go to the movies or see another one at the same time? We did want to see a movie - it was main thing we were doing - so we picked a different one.
Making a last minute decision is always hard. I did want to see a movie, I didn't want to see the original movie but still, it was hard to say yes to another movie.
I don't know about you guys, but I think you all agree; when someone asks you to choose for them or make a decision, it takes forever to decide. (You automatically agree with by the way - it wasn't an option.) But the worst time to decide on something is in school, in front of the whole class.

Invitation

Today I was invited to watch my friends soccor game which ended up being quite nice and entertaining because, well you got to see your friend which is always a good thing. It was a fairly cold and dismal day though so that put me down a tad bit but not too much because I focused more on the game than the weather. It was a good game in my opinion. Everyone seemed to be having a great time which is nice to see on the kind of day that it was. It may not seem like it if you're someone watching a game but it's actually quite social because you never know who you'll expect to be there while these games were happening. Not only was my friend that invited me was there but a bunch of other good mates of mine from other schools too which made it even better but it the happiness doesn't end there. After lots of running and kicking, my friends team won the game! I was very proud of the team. I couldn't be happier. Lots of freinds and plenty of stuff to keep you interested in. If you're in a soccer team, great. If you're not, watch some local games anyway because it's likely you'll end up enjoying yourself.

Big thank you to my great friend for writing this. I asked him today to get his perspective on it - because I was interested to hear it. Hope you guys liked it.

Taking it too far

Anything can be taken too far. You don't have to do much for it to be taken far, but when someone says 'stop' or 'please don't', generally means someone really does't want you to continue doing what you're doing. If you have one of those siblings who is constantly annoying you and you ask them over and over again to stop, but they don't? That's taking it too far because if they don't stop when you ask, the other person sometimes gets hurt. That's what happened to me today, but with friends. I was laughing, but that's my way of trying not to get angry. They didn't know, they thought it was fun - because I was laughing - so they continued to do what they were doing. It did make me a little sad but after awhile you do get annoyed and can't take it any more, you just can't. That did happen - at the end of the day - but I didn't let it out on my friends, I kept it to myself and got it under control.
If you can see someone is annoying another person and they don't like it, stop them. If you're annoying someone, don't take it too far okay? It's best if you don't annoy them in the first place, but if you are, just ask them if it's too much or if they'd like you to stop. It's not fun for the person being annoyed and they don't like it. Take it into consideration next time.

The master of ceremony

Correct me if I'm wrong but the last time I checked, MC stood for Master of Ceremony. This is commonly used for people who runs the through a program for a special events or ceremonies like awards ceremonies. Today, me and a friend got to be the MC's for the school assembaly today. Now at first, this may sound a bit scary especially since you were talking in front of 500+ people that included friends, teachers and principals but when when you're up there, it's actually not too bad at all. Everything you need to say or follow is right there in front of you and all you have to do is read it. Unless you're the kind of person who likes to have fun. Then in that case, you can add some sentaces in there of your own just to mix things up a bit. If you get the chance to MC then take it, it's fun and good practice.

Thank you to my amazing friend who wrote today's post.

Sleep

Sleep is very important. You probably hear that a lot from your parents and I may sound like them too, but it is true and you should listen. Everyone has a curfew - set bed time - or a time they normally go to bed. Mine is 10 pm. But just because that's when you go to bed, it doesn't mean you go to sleep straight a way. Even though I go to bed at 10 pm, I normally only fall asleep before 11 pm. I may not be sleeping in that hour, but I am still resting - lying in bed NOT using any devices.
Last night I was up two hours past my bed time trying to finished the last of an assignment, I got it done at midnight. Now, because I'm not used to staying up so late I have been extremely tired all day long. A few times I was almost asleep and I think I was for about five minutes at lunch.
Everybody needs sleep, some more than others. Don't stay up late. Being a teenager doesn't give you the automatic right to stay up as late as you wish. Just because you're a teenager - or adult - going to bed early doesn't mean you're weak or whatever, I think you're the responsible peeople because you know when enough is enough.

Fun fact: the more you sleep the taller you are.

You're worth something

Ever thought you're nothing, that you're not worth anything? Well I'm going to tell you something, you are worth something, everything, the world! You're priceless, that's how much you're worth something! People may not show it and you may not believe it but they should and you should as well. I didn't feel worthless today, I felt lonely. I've finally started to feel the effect of missing my friends overseas.
Feeling lonely can make you feel worthless. But as I said before, I don't think I'm worthless, just a little lonely. I still have friends so it's not the end of the world. I'm not worthless to them, myself or anyone.
I had a bad day and felt pretty lonely, I got home, jumped on 'YouTube' and found this song. (YouTube is great it has everything! Just to let you know.) It's from 'The Lorax' - pretty awesome movie with those cute animals and it has a pretty catchy/cool beat. I love it, hope you do to!

Hope you're feeling really happy now, just like me! Because some teenagers can be cranky, be a happy teenager.

Results

When the teacher announces to the class, 'you get your test results back today' or 'I have your test results', your heart generally jumps up into your throat - and you hold your breath as if you're underwater. I did that for about five minutes today as she walked around the class telling people their results. She came up to me and I stopped breathing, I only started to breathe again after I new I passed. But knowing if you pass or fail means nothing to me. If you gave it your all and tried your very hardest, it's always a pass in my book, even if you failed. I have a few friends who tried and did give it their all and didn't pass, they passed to me.
Teachers make the tests hard for the reason because 'The Department of Education' makes the rules. Hand up if you disagree with agreeing to those rules? (Me.)
Tests are made to be challenging and to make you think and study, but the way the get marked, personally sometimes I think it's pretty stupid. Passing or failing doesn't matter. If you pay attention in class and know how to do it, why test you? Everybody forgets under pressure, it's not their fault, it's half the teachers and half the departments. Just keep that in mind the next time you fail or pass a test.

Perfection

I am so sorry for there being no post yesterday.

Most people want everything to be perfect. That line, that person, anything and everything people want it to be perfect. People often look for that perfect person. But in truth nothing is perfect and never will be.
I sometimes call myself a perfectionist. Today more than ever. I love being creative, who doesn't? I get to create my own assignment basically but have to follow some instructions. I spent the whole afternoon working on drawing lines and cutting things out. Only now have I realised that I did it all wrong. I started to cut more things out and stuffed the base of the whole assignment! Now what? It's due tomorrow and I have nothing! I've got one solution, re-start it tomorrow and get it done before the end of the day. (Yes I'm going to do it at school.)
I really hope none of you have ever had this problem. It's very stressful, time consuming and no where near fun. Don't expect things to be prefect, they never are and never will be.

Tears of joy and sadness

Today - right now - most of my friends are sitting in a plane flying to South-East Asia. They will spend the next month over there helping the local communities and tracking though the countries. It is monsoon season, so heads up guys, you'll get a little bit wet. What they have signed up for is will be life changing. They will be different when they return and I cannot wait until they get back! Hearing about their adventures, reading about their trip - if they've kept a diary - seeing pictures, it will be like they never left.
I wish you all the best of luck on behalf of all our friends. We hope you stay safe, have fun and have the best time ever. We all love you and miss you already! You guys have had me in tears ever since last night. Tears of happiness and tears of sadness. You will be deeply missed but you're all deeply love. Stay safe and come back in one piece with a life changing story. There is no word to describe what you're doing, have a blast! See ya all in one month! <3

Pain in the heart

Ever thought, 'Oh, this won't hurt, it'll be fine' but when it actually happens you're like 'Ouch, that hurt way more than I thought it would'? Yep, well that is me most of the time. But today hurt more than ever before because it stabbed me right in the heart. It was a rather disappointing day and quite upsetting but at the same time happy. I don't know how that works, but if your logic works like mine it makes sense.

"Wether human or animal who ever has made a difference in your life and has gained a piece of your heart and mind, passes on or simply leaves your life, then they take those pieces with them. Your heart and mind may heal a little over time, but there will always be a piece missing. The piece they took with them."
That was written by a good friend of mine, she's awesome. I've given a piece of my heart to someone and a small was piece of that was lost today. It may take some time to heal, but there will always be a scar and a tiny but will always be a hole.

Photography

The first thing that pops into your mind when someone says photography is a camera. Well you can't take pictures without one. Most people only know of digital photography - the ones with the electronic controls - but there is also film photography. Now with film photography, some parts of the camera are electronic but others aren't, it all depends on what kind of film camera you have and how old it is. The best thing about film cameras is that everything is done manually! You have to focus it, find the correct shutter speed, the correct aperture and the zoom, but that's the same for all cameras.
My school offers classes in both film and digital photography and this semester I'm doing film photography. There is a big upside to the assignments, you get to take pictures with a film camera! See, not all assignments are boring, I'm having great fun with mine.
If you have any form of camera lying around your house, go out and take pictures. It's fun, gets you outside and there is no limit on creativity! You can photograph anything you wish, but if it's people, be sure to ask for their permission first.

Studying

Maths. Now you should all know, maths is everybody's favourite subject. With the algebra and all the numbers, letters, formulas and questions, makes maths the best subject! Yes, I'm being sarcastic. I do love maths normally but when you get all the revision for that end of semester test. You have to go back to the being of your book and redo two terms worth of maths in a few days. In my case, one night because that lovely test is tomorrow. Some of the things you only have to do once because it is either easy or you remember it. But there are so many topics, formulas and those funny signs and math rules!
Now if you've paid attention in class these should be easy - unless you've covered like fifty topics which makes it a little harder.
If you've got a test, study many nights before hand and not the night before.  But if you study on the day, you tend to forget because you feel much more pressure.

Good-bye

Saying good bye to someone is probably the hardest thing you will ever say to them. Whether it be to a friend you see the next day or someone you may never see again. If you say good-bye to a family member who you know you will never see again or not for a very long time, they take a piece of your heart with them and may or may not give it back. As for saying good-bye to a friend is a little different. If you see them every day and know you'll see them in the next class or after two classes, you don't tend to miss them. After spending an afternoon with them, the last thing is to say good-bye or watch them leave.
Everyone holds a piece of your heart. Every time you say good-bye or watch them go they take their piece, you only get it back when you see them again. Good-byes are the hard.

A set task

You've all been given a set task do complete sometime in your life. Ever been given one for going shopping? A few weeks ago I was having a joke with my dad's girlfriends daughter about a shopping. Our parents over heard, joked about it with us and then turned it serious. They gave us three rules we had to follow: only allowed $50, not allowed to share money and you had to pick an outfit for somebody else. The goal was to spend as close to the $50 as possible. I completed that goal within the first hour of shopping - I got some pretty good stuff, all on sale too! More than half the stuff we tried on was for fun and we had fun taking photos of each other in both nice and strange clothes.
It was of the best shopping trips I've had and one of the only ones I've actually bought clothes on. You guys should try a set shopping trip, it's not as hard as you think and they're pretty fun.

A cook off

Ever seen those cooking shows on TV, how they cook against one another to see who can cook the best dish? Well my dad and his girlfriend both clam to have the best 'Roast Lamb'. The competition isn't about winning or losing but having fun. Tonight my dad cooked his roast lamb and in two weeks or so his girlfriend will cook her roast lamb. I get to taste test which is the best but the best thing about this taste testing is that you get to eat the whole thing, not just taste it! Cooking the lamb and the vegetables that go with it, the smell that fills your house when you take it out of the oven. Putting it on your plate and pouring the gravy on top, it smells way too good to eat. And for desert, my dad cooked dinner so his girlfriend did desert. Sticky date pudding with ice-cream, the best cook off is always a friendly one.
Nothing is ever a competition, everything is done for fun. Working together and sharing and being friendly, results in fun and the best possible outcome.
I look forward to more taste testing soon. And for you guys, make your parents have a friendly cook off sometime - it's a lot of fun and it's also yummy.

Friday night...PARTY!

Who hasn't partied on a Friday night? Me, until tonight. It was more a dance then a party, but you dance like there is no tomorrow! I'm not a big dancer and I'm not the best at making new friends but I danced a lot and made four new friends! We danced, sang, ate food and laughed. It was a great night.
There were slow dances too. Yes, the ones where you dance with a partner to a slow song. Not always a romantic song - that's mainly in the movies - just a slow song. Dancing with a partner is fun, a little romantic and also gives you a break from dancing too much.
Best Friday night I've ever had and also one of the most tiring.

Clothes

A girls worst nightmare, picking out something to wear. Most of the time I really don't care what I wear - a t-shirt and a pair of jeans, yep, I'm good. Going out somewhere you've never been before you want to look nice and casual, but you take nice and then go way over the top and it becomes a fancy dress. I'm told to dress casually, as I said just before it never has the result of casual. You over think casual and come up with fancy. If you stop thinking and start looking you end up finding casual clothes that look really nice.
Now to keep casual don't go fussing about hair and shoes and all that because it turns everything back to being fancy. Then you have to find clothes all over again and it never stops.
My tip: the next time you have to dress casual for something, don't think about it. Look with your eyes - not think think with your head - and keep it simple. Because girls, looking your best and making a fuss about shoes, hair and clothes all the time, wastes your time.

Time for a check up

For me today, was the time that regularly should only happen twice a year, a dental check up. This was probably one of the most dreadful times of the year because it was the dentist. Who disn't hate the dentist! Especially when you were younger. You were forced to lie in an uncomfortable chair, while staring at really bright light. Sure, you were given sunnies to wear but still. It's a tad annoying. Then to add to all of this, you had to hold your mouth wide open while getting mirrors and pointy tools, drills and other wacky objects shoved in your mouth and don't even get me started on the taste.
If I were you, I would listen to your dentist and brush every morning and night.

Swing sets

Those childhood memories; going to the park and playing on the equipment. The swing set was always my favourite. You can use them many different ways. One way is swinging forwards and backwards - their proper use. Another is sitting in it and going around and around in circles. You can also go swing side to side and at a diagonal angle.
I like using swings for their propose use, going forwards and backwards. If you lie back, every time you swing forwards it feels like you're flying.
I know growing up means forgetting your childhood and start living the 'teenage life'. But you're still a kid and you can still act like, it's not a crime. Be yourself and have fun because when you're an adult you may not be able to do all the things you want to do.

Something different

Hey everyone. Today's post is going to be quite different to my others, I'm going to tell you all why I have a blog.
This started out as an english assignment. I had to create a blog sort of thing in power point, but I thought why not make an actual blog. I put up one post everyday about something I have either felt or done. It was just an assignment but then it became a hobbie so I have continued and will hopefully never stop.
Some days I don't want to write, I just don't feel like or have nothing. I haven't written every post up here, I have a friend who does it with me. In my opinion, he is a great writer. I get my insperation from school, walking, friends and family. I don't know where he gets his from, but it has a great result.
I love seeing all the pageviews and seeing how international my blog is. Being in the land down under and seeing all the countries brings me happiness.
Hope you liked today's because I thought it was time for something a bit different. It's also my way of saying I've now done 101 posts.

Your life is a path

When you walk along a path what do you see? The bumps in the paths, the bends, the small hills and gullies and how it follows the face of the earth? If not the path itself how about what surrounds it, the trees, grass, dirt, roads and houses? Thinking why on earth would you look at all that and name it all, I've got a good reason as to why.
Walk along a path you have been on before. You never know what will happen around the next bend, over that small hill or what awaits on the other side of that road. The path you walk on, think of it as your life. You have no idea what will happen in you future - like around that bend, over that hill or across the road. When you look back on your life you see it from a different perspective - like turning around and seeing the path from that different angle. Paths branch off and you can only choose one to follow - you choose your life and it's direction. Some paths aren't the right ones. Retrace your steps and you will find the right path.
Your path is different to everyone else's. Don't follow in someone else's footsteps on their path, make your own. That someone else you follow, may be the reason you're not on the right track.

Memorable trips

Memorable trips. Everyone has sure to have had one. A trip where you had such a good time or something really big happened that you'll always remember it. It doesn't have to be a big trip though. It could just be to a friends place or even to the shops just as long as its memorable. In my case, today and yesterday was a memorable trip to Sydney to see a light show where all the well known structures were lit up with projections of colour and music. Everywhere you went there was music, performances and lights. Even better because it was with the family which made it truly memorable.

My apologises for it being so late and thank you to my friend who wrote this for me.

Studying

I bet you have sometime in your life forgotten to study for a test. I did that today, for both my tests. For one of them I studied the lesson before hand and the other ten minutes before I my class started. It wasn't smart and it didn't really help me in my tests at all. I had both a hard test and an easy test, but because I didn't study they both seemed hard.
If you want to study for a test do it the day before, not half an hour or ten minutes, it does not work.

Counselling

Need help sometimes or maybe just really need to talk to somebody, counselling, a youth centre or maybe even your school teachers. Yes there are also friends and family but sometimes you need a bit more than support. I've got friends who have done a course and are now Mental Heath Ambassadors. They don't exactly count as a counselor or a friend when it come to seeking help, they are in the middle. I trust them because they are my friends and they can help because they have done the course. They listen and give you advice, really good advice. Most of it does come from a friends perspective but sometimes it's better coming from a friend than a stranger. You do have to tell them everything but it does help, a lot.

Driving

Here where I live, you can get a learning licence to drive at the age of 15 and 9 months but before you get that you have to do a course. A road ready course. If you're at the right school then you can take this course through it which can be cheaper or you could of course do it outside of school. This course is to ensure you know the rules of the road and how to be safe when you're on it in the car. At the end of the course you must take a test and if you succeed then you earn a certificate showing you've completed the course and you get your licence. This is extremely exciting because it actually means you get to legally drive and you're that bit closer to independence but you need a fully licence person with you until you get your P's. That's a whole other story though.

4-legged friends

Have you got a 4-legged friend? Is it small or maybe even big enough to ride?
Today I rode a horse for the first time, bare back! You could ride just about anything - that is big enough to sit on and hold you of course - but it is up to your better judgement whether or not you can. Now, I don't recommend riding on a dog but I have seen dogs that are about the size of a horse...so I guess you could ride a dog, but it is not recommended.
Your 4-legged friends can be anything with 4 legs. There are great company when you need it the most and the love cuddles. Love your 4-legged friends.

Those romantic moments

Those special romantic moments - big or small - are the moments you treasure the most. They can start out as anything, but something makes it special and that special moment can become a romantic one.
Mine started out as two friends lying down,  listening to music and talking. It wasn't romantic music, it was just music we both really like. Simply putting your arms around each other or just holding them close can make you feel safer, closer and sometimes more than friends. Listening to yourselves breathing and feeling them breathe, is relaxing and soothing. The little hint of romance, that small touch that makes the world disappear and you feel like you're the only two people on the planet, is...wonderful.
Treasure those romantic moments you have. None are ever the same.

Positive attitude

When you do something you enjoy, you can do it for hours and hours. I play the flute and shock or surprise people when I say I've played for hours or when I do nothing and stare out into space, the answer is as simple as I enjoy doing it. If you really dislike doing something you give up within minutes but when you like something and enjoy it you go for ages and don't realize. Don't judge something because you don't enjoy it, others may love it and who knows, maybe you'd enjoy it too if you stopped judging it and gave it a go.
A fortune cookie once told me: your positive attitude will result in success. Just because a fortune cookie said it, doesn't mean it means nothing. It is working for me and will work for you too.

Rain, soccer and fun

What do you get when you put rain, soccer and fun together? Muddy fun! Running around throwing mud on yourself with your boots and getting drenched with your cloths clinging to you, what's not to love? Slide tackles and falling over makes the game a hundred times better.
For me there are no winners or losers. You are always a winner. Why? Because you had fun. Rain or no rain everything is still fun and everyone is always a winner.
